It looks really nice. :v I think it is going to be the first new car. I've been driving hand me downs up till now. I want it. I have $4000 saved so far. I wanna have $10000 saved for a downpayment.

When they say, "Winter 2018" does that mean like... November?

Nope but I really want to get one of those 2l turbo Civics. One off the girls at work has one (the 4 door version, pretty sure it's a 2l turbo but it might be a 2.2l, will have to check at work on Thursday). Really nice car and they are fairly cheap here in China. Hopefully buy one before the end of the year, can get a fully loaded one for about $15k used (1-2 years old).

traction in snow has more to do with your tires than the drivetrain. invest in a good set of winter tires and you can drive in just about anything

For a vehicle down payment yeah.

I'd agree personally because I'd rather make lower payments since car loans have very low interest rates and I can beat it with any mutual fund but for the dumb layman that can't balance a budget they're probably better deferring a big chunk the cost of the vehicle when they buy it. If you're willing to buy a car ideally you should be able to afford it.
