Just because someone likes a product of animation, it doesn't mean they desire the real life counterpart. Breasts that are twice the size of watermelons look firm and inviting in anime. Sadly, that is not often the case in real life.

I'm into what furries commonly refer to as ferals: animal characters with human level intelligence. I don't see myself as a bestialist because it's the humanization process which makes these characters attractive to me. Their eyes are drawn to look like human eyes, their smiles like human smiles. If I can say that those details and the accompanying sapience separate what I'm into from bestiality, then I have to extend the same courtesy to lolicons... even if I find what their into disgusting.

While there's probably a lot of overlap between lolicons and pedophiles, I don't think the former and the latter and one and the same. It's like equating violent programming with violent people. By the same token, not all furries... even those at the far end of the spectrum... are unrepentant bestialists.

What inclined you to ask that question on a public forum?

If only people were smart enough to understand the difference between fiction and reality and how the two don't always go hand-in-hand. I already brought up the violent video games argument and didn't get a rational answer. If a person who's into shooting games isn't being turned into a potential a serial killer, what makes you think a person who's into anime with lolis is a child rapist in the making.

Meh. If they want to mod me for asking why they protect pedophiles instead of actually doing something about admitted pedophiles, that says a whole lot more about them than it does about me. Mainly that they are sub-human scum, among other things.

Furries are not drawn to look like real animals. They are drawn to resemble anthropomorphic animal cartoon characters. There may be some correlation between this and wanting to have sex with actual animals but even the furries who make it into a sexual fetish (and let's be clear here, most of them just like to read non-sexual comics or treat it like a cosplay hobby) don't cross over into being attracted to actual animals most of the time. They are just too different. If someone wanted to have sex with, say, Rocket Raccoon then I would expect that person to want to have sex with real life Raccoons as well. On the other hand if they were attracted to, say, Gadget from Rescue Rangers then I wouldn't expect that to translate into sexual attraction to actual mice.

Girls in lolicon fetish are drawn to look like children as much as possible. Their characters also act childlike and innocent. It's supposed to be about sex with children. There are some that go out of their way to have the character be over age or a robot or something but even then, the artist is trying to make them look as much like an actual underage girl as possible.

It's like how if someone's favorite kind of porn was 2D girls with big boobs, I would expect him to also be attracted to women with big boobs in real life, at least more than small boobed women. If he was into 2D porn with dominating women, I would expect him to be into dominating women more than submissive ones. And if he were into lolicon, I would expect him to find children more sexually attractive than adult women in real life too.

That doesn't necessarily make them child molesters, but I'll bet that a good majority of them would have sex with children if they knew it wouldn't hurt the girl, and they wouldn't get in trouble for it. Or if it ever became possible and legal to have sex with robots that are extremely realistic representations of human girls, I think a lot of lolicon fans would jump at the chance.

I would say lolicons by far since they depict underaged characters.
Furries otoh are not as bizarre as them. Their artwork most of the times depicts humanoids with some superficial animal traits that is not anywhere near as bad as depicting animated children.
