yo someone pls hlep me with this

metal claims to be about death and all that yet is primarily produced by whites in 1st world countries where they HARDLY experience any hardships dealing with death

rock music was heavily influenced by black american artists like muddy waters

why has metal developen into being a mainly white genre while black people, who have a greater claim to knowing about death, brutality, and the merciless nature of humans, don't really have a foothold in metal

where is the african death metal singing about the shootings in the hood or something?

it seems to me that the realities they face would be greatly reflected in some brutal death metal yet its always some bourgeois white boy singing about a serial killer or satan

seems like metal is just larping music while rap/gangsta rap is the REAL music dealing with REAL death and brutality

this is more legit than any death metal i know of

Metal doesn't claim anything. It's a genre. It's not capable of claiming anything.

However, if you are saying that much of the music has themes around death, that is arguably true, but an artist does not have to be an expert in something to create a work based around it. The Renaissance painters never saw pagan gods or ancient battles, yet many of their works revolve around that.

There are actually some black metal musicians, but the genre found a strong base in young adult men. I don't know why, but a lot of stuff was specifically directed at that demographic.

However, again, the target demographic doesn't really have much to do with who has greatest claim to suffering.

The backgrounds of metal musicians vary wildly, and very few bands actually focus on Satan or serial killers. Generally speaking, history (especially medieval history and military history) are far more popular themes, alongside horror films.

The idea that all of metal basically revolves around Satan worship is entirely a stupid, stereotype. There are absolutely bands that do (such as the Death, Black, and Extreme Metal scenes) but there is a ton more stuff. For example, Sabaton's music is entirely based around historical events, Iron Maiden also predominately sings about history, and Judas Priest is almost entirely about partying hard, science fiction, and biker culture.

It's pretty simple. "Gangsta" cultures glorify rap and don't value many other types of music. A young person who is growing up in that culture and is interested in music is going to gravitate towards rap because they will gain more attention and praise in that genre. If they pursue a genre like, say, metal, there's a good chance they'll be made to feel like more of an outcast.

There's also the possibility that people growing up in the "gangsta" settings have less access to resources like instruments, music classes, practice spaces, and musicians with similar interests.

Metal is more about bringing people together through the common bond of existential and other forms of angst.

Rap being about actually killing and/or being killed isn't exactly a mark in its favor...

That doesn't even begin to describe all rap. There is a significant amount of rap about inequality, racism, poverty, and a number of other serious social issues.

This is true but I'm only addressing the main point he seemed to want to make.

Also there's a shit ton of metal about war and oppression.

Fair enough, and I actually mentioned that war was a frequent topic of metal. Either way, though, artistic expression and existential angst are two things that are not entirely owned by any one group. More importantly, both metal and rap have examples that subvert and play straight the topics the TC talked about. It's ridiculous to claim that either is a better example, given that both genres have literal hundreds of thousands of works that would have to be evaluated.
