How much customization is there? Weapons, outfits, etc. Those are a big deal to me in any game.

Just how frequent/awful are the QTE sequences? I absolutely hate these and they were one of the bigger reasons I stayed the hell away.

And in general, why would you recommend this game?

Also, should I skip straight to Rise or what? Is that even worth playing? Does the sequel bring anything new to the table?

The games are freaking amazing.

There's a decent amount of customization, but there's more in the second one.

The games are just honestly so much fun. I don't play a lot of shooters, so nothing really felt stale.

If you get it on steam, just try it out for less then two hours, and if you don't like it, return it.

I'd recommend the games yes. Think Uncharted and that's what you get here. On the customization front you can change outfits and upgrade weapons but that's about it from what I recall. QTE events didn't bother me in this.

I thought they were excellent. I was really impressed from start to finish with both Tomb Raider 2013 and the sequel, Rise of the Tomb Raider. The story was great, the scenery is beautiful (and there's a decent amount of freedom to explore or take multiple routes), the gameplay was smooth and mostly on point most of the time (there were a couple times i had minor frustrations but nothing serious), the characters were cool and the "acting" was great (Laura is perfect), the challenges were fun and mostly well integrated, the weapons and upgrades system was easy to use and there are lots of cool things to attain... really i can't say a whole lot that was bad about it. Im sure im forgetting a few things that i might have felt at the time, but they were insignificant enough overall that they really didn't dampen to the experience outside of those moments.
Definitely looking forward to the new one that comes out in September.
