I don't believe in any human religion, but the closest I would maybe follow is Buddhism probably. I believe in a God, just not any of the ones earth has come up with. I think the truth is something nobody has thought of

Kind of weird that you believe in God, but don't believe that a place named hell is something he would make, to, say, punish the wicked.

because I don't follow the Christian mythos. to me, God is just some vague being or force out there. I don't believe in the stuff in the bible with Jesus and such. or Jehova's old testament antics. It's kinda arrogant for humans to think we know what the being that created the universe is like. if I had to pick a theory, I would say that The Force from Star Wars was closest to what God is

So, you don't believe in Jesus (the only one who has ever spoken in truth in the world), and now you say some silly things that don't really make any sense. Why don't you believe in the Bible or Jesus? It seems as though I was and still am 100% right: you're just a worldly loner, and don't understand the truth of the Bible.

I was raised catholic. I know about the bible. I grew up with stories about jesus. I just don't buy it. we don't have any solid historical proof he was real. and there was a belief of a similar man around the same time called Mithras who was very similar to Jesus. and his religion almost became supreme instead of Chrstianity. there was a moment in history where it could have gone either way. and maybe today you would be talking to me about Mithras instead of Jesus.

Why don't you believe Jesus when he said:

"I am the way, the truth and the life. Nobody comes through the Father, except through me?"

Also, you were raised Catholic. Catholics aren't Christian. Also, there's more evidence for Jesus existing than any other historical figure ever. The Bible is one. There are millions of people who still say Jesus exists. It seems you have fallen into the trap of Jesus not existing for you, which is pretty stupid considering the amount of evidence he has in favor of him existing and still existing to this day.

Also, Mithras isn't the same as Jesus dying and being resurrected. No one besides Jesus died and rose again in all of ancient history.

jesus died to free humanity of our sins. all he asks in return is for his forgiveness so we can all gain entry to heaven when we die. no other path is available to enter.

jesus forgives all.

1. catholics are christian

2. there are numerous gods in mythology who died and came back like Osiris when he is murdered and then his wife gathers his body parts and brings him back to life

or Baldur was believed to someday come back to life during Ragnarok

Jesus is a "sacrificial deity" he was not the first one of that type.

1. How are Catholics true Christians?

2. Osiris didn't die and get resurrected. In fact, Jesus is the only historical figure who died and rose again.

3. Jesus is not a sacrificial deity. He is the Son of God that died and rose again for the world's sins.

4. It seems as if you don't know much about Jesus or ancient history.

Catholics worship Christ. that makes them Christians. a christian is one who worships Christ.

in the myth, Osiris did in fact die and come back

Jesus fits the very definition of sacrificial deity. he is a god that died for the world's sins. you said it yourself. you seem to just not get what sacrificial deity means

I know enough about Jesus and more than you think. like I said, my entire family is catholic. and I am sure I know more about ancient history than you do

the big problem is you believe Jesus was a historical figure. I don't or I need to see proof. the bible is not proof. if he existed at all, he was probably very different from the stories. or he was an amalgamation of different prophets. there were loads of prophets at that time, in that part of the world.

1. Catholics don't worship Christ, though. They worship Mary.

2. YOU seem to not understand that Jesus is not a sacrificial deity. How is teaching his apostles lessons and people other than him, getting healed right in front of Jesus, going to a cross, dying, and rolling a stone out from in front of him being sacrificial? Jesus died for your sins, and for the world's sins. There is nothing sacrificial about that.

3. LOL! If you know more about ancient history than I do and Jesus, then why the dodging of my points? Why the ignorance? Why be defensive? You don't know anything about ancient history if you think Jesus didn't exist. The overwhelming number of scholars today believe that he without a doubt existed, and, that is by NOT using the Bible solely as their only evidence. The Jesus didn't exist idea isn't around anymore, too, except for a fringe group of imbeciles.

4. If Jesus isn't a historical figure (which you still didn't evidence it), then what is Jesus to you?

Don't worry, Zikten: you don't pay attention to what I've said in this entire topic. I addressed everything about your posts. You then ignore me because I said something that was 100% correct. Now, go play. You also said you were raised Catholic, but then go onto to say go study Mithras or Osiris, because they died and rose again. Mithras and Osiris never died on a cross, or rose again after being killed on the cross. So, it seems as if you don't even know much about religions other than Christianity, or Catholicism!:)

Also, if I were you, I'd leave this topic, too. Getting proved wrong as much as you have in this topic has clearly gotten to you!:)
