My cousin's brother-in-law is a NEET and his parents just put up with it. From what I understand they don't care. Sometimes I get kinda jealous that he gets to stay home every day and do whatever he wants to.

I have to work. It borders on obsession. I can't shut it off, so I keep myself busy with multiple projects at a time. 4-6 hours of sleep and then right back to it. I'm now disabled, but I still have to keep it going. When I left my paying job last year (only because I was physically unable to continue, and I resisted fiercely, violated medical orders, my boss finally told me to resign or be fired and removed physically from the building), I tried the NEET life, at my wife's insistence. I was going insane from boredom in less than three days.

I can't understand NEET, but I see why people can't understand my ways. If that's the way you want to live, and you have the means, then have fun.

No. I tried it once even having a little bit of bills. I felt like a shitty human being relying on others to take care of my financials. Relying on someone else to put a shelter over my head because I refused to do it myself.

If you're okay with it, more power to you but I don't know how you are okay with just being a drain on everyone around you.

For example, explain actors and athletes with all the money and comfort they'll ever need, and why there are so many that get involved in social causes. I mean, why should they, right?

In the end, I think suggesting that socialism will lead to humanity coming to a full stop in progress is unprovable at best, and false at worst.

Interesting, if a little sensationalist. I'm not entirely convinced, though. He makes a fair bit of generalization in there. I think it's the classic "TV will destroy a generation" thing. We'll find a new aspect that affects society, and we'll level off and compensate.

And of course, none of that article has anything to do with socialism, only providing evidence that there are people who will do nothing if given the option, and I wasn't disputing that. Believe me. I've been to CE.
