It's a magical place that exists both digitally and in our imaginations. We may not see each other there, but we're in the Malibu Club ogling the smeary, pixelated bodies. We're parked on the sand looking at a baby blue sky, listening to Rick James on the radio. It's charmingly stuck in time. It's as real as anywhere else and I plan to vacation there frequently for the rest of my life.

The cops in this game are hilarious. Like starting at about 3 stars, stopping you is all that matters. Everything else, including their own lives much less everyone else's, be damned.

If you stand under that building that you blow up with the RC helicopters with a wanted level, the cops are hesitant to drive onto the property for some reason. So, worked up into a 4 star frenzy like dogs, they'll just do circles in the street trying to work up their courage to come at you, but by then they will often flip their cars or roll up on you in a flaming cruiser before being killed in the explosion. They had me crying the other night.

Protip: Snipe the police boats from the safe house by the mall to get to the other island early. If you have enough money you can buy the safe house there very early in the game.
