She tried to do good with school lunches but ultimately failed because the states' budget weren't enough to implement what she wanted so the kids got the poorest quality of food within her guidelines for nutrition. At least she tried. It's surprising that people deny that there's a nutritional problem with the current school lunches for a majority of the population.

I don't understand why she gets so much hate though.

I did not find her attractive when Obama was first running for president. But she grew on me. Then I saw this one photo (that I can't find) of her and Barack embracing, and I saw her booty... Sweet baby Jesus. If I wasn't a believer before that point, I definitely was a believer then.

Because people act like she was personally the one plating every meal. In reality what she did was set nutritional standards that some schools failed to meet.

In middle school and high school, you know what they offered for lunch? Our food options were hot pockets, heated frozen burritos, pizza, heated frozen burgers, and nachos. Our beverages were soda, gatorade, or water. Water was 1.50 while soda and gatorade were 1.00. There were also fruits but submerged in sugar syrup in fruit cups. Snacks were chips and candy bars.

None of this shit was healthy to eat on a daily basis and this was all they offered at school.

Her mere presence exposed racist morons who couldnt help but tell on themselves. If she had literally contributed nothing else, it would have been more than enough

Pretty weird to see all this anger and vitriol from people just because she helped change the menu items for children at school. You'd think she'd have placed all those kids in internment camps and then mocked them for it, with the way people get so angry about those lunches.

Her school food changes were a mistake, and I think it's disgusting that she's so proud of them when they were a total failure. She seems like a nice woman with good intentions, but she clearly failed the kids, and didn't care about fixing it after she messed up.

Imagine the shitstorm that would have ensued were a "lunch monitor" empowered to compel kids to eat the mandatory "choices", instead of just throwing them away.

The 'breadtangle" pizza is far worse now, with whole-wheat crust and low-fat "cheese".
An adult would look at that and think "Oh, that way less unhealthy than it was back in the day", but a kid will take a bite and then just toss the rest.
