I got it on Switch and I'm really enjoying it! I don't think I'm all that far based on the size of the map. I just got the ability that let's you shoot Soul downwards. I've heard it's hard but maybe I'm just not far enough yet because it's kind of easy so far.

I think your first destination is in the middle of the map.

Look around until you find a guy selling maps. The map kind of gives you clues on what to go for... Oh and once you buy a map, youll want to make it back to the village and buy some map pins.

By shoot soul downwards do you mean Desolate Dive aka the Stomp move? The boss you get that from is usually considered pretty tough. Like around middle of the pack in difficulty when it comes to all the bosses in the game. The thing with the bosses in this game though is that their difficulty depends heavily on what charms and upgrades you have when facing them. Two of my most difficult boss battles were against a couple of bosses who are considered pushovers. But there are a couple bosses I beat easily that are generally considered some of the hardest in the game.

Yeah that's it. The boss killed me a couple of times but once I got its patterns down, I thought it was easy. Not trying to brag; I don't consider myself a great VG player. I had 2 charms equipped. One that lets you cast magic with less Soul, and one that supposedly makes you more invulnerable after getting hit (I didn't notice a difference).

Yeah he gave me a hard time. I mean ultimately the boss fights are about dodging, so if you're good at that you'll be able to beat everything regardless of what items and charms you have. But I think for most people on their first playthrough they're going to have trouble on at least a couple bosses.

Yeah I got it on switch few days ago. On the second map, some greenery or something. So far it's fun, def took a few hours to pick up and I still don't have much to customize.

Right now it's just another game I'm gonna bounce between playing

Woo, just found and beat the first boss. Wasn't too bad when you realize he won't trap you in the corner

Playing for the first time as well. I assume I'm at the end of the game, but I'm still exploring and finding power ups.

Best game of 2017 for me. First game I 100%'d in a long time, although since then more has been released. :v

100%'d it on PC last year. 107%'d it on Switch last week.

Got it last week but I'm out of town until Friday and can't play. Last thing I did was get the ability to dash really far off of walls. Although I skipped the boss near Mantis town because I was too lazy at the time to try more than twice.

Great game so far. Only issue is the jump isn't quite as precise as I'd like. Takes a little time to get used to.

I had a ton of trouble with both of those and saved 'em for last. With the Trial of Fools (coliseum), I kept dying to the final boss. And the Path of Pain (platforming level) goes way, way beyond the bar set by the rest of the White Palace.

I was doing the "100% the game in under 20 hours" achievement and fuck, dude. The last thing I had was the Trial of Fools, and I kept failing. I think I beat it and then the last boss with like half an hour to spare. I was sweating, man.

Just sorta gave up early, and ended up playing Brave Dungeon again for some reason.

I don't really like the visual style, but I'll probably get it on Switch eventually. Either when it's on sale or when the final content is released.

Hollow Knight is one of the best games to come out in the last few years imo. I quit just before getting the dream nail last time, picked it up again on Switch. Now I'm two dreamers down, currently getting my ass kicked by the 2nd Hornet fight.

Shit makes me wanna rage

I just couldnt do the part where you have to cling to the wall for like a minute. Im pretty sure thats only like halfway through the whole thing too.

I enjoyed it but people who say this game is difficult then lol Im at the final boss just going around collecting things

I may buy it again on Switch, it runs kind of poorly on my PC. I had to do a lot of tinkering because the last boss was unplayable.

This game isnt difficult at all, its challenging but thats it

Just finished the main storyline, its a fantastic game. Taking a little break before exploring the loose ends though, the game was much longer than I expected and it wore on me a little near the end.

Most of the bosses got me a couple times at most, but man, the Watcher Knights had me raging hard. Hollow Knight was decently tough as well.

Fully charged slash nail with nail masters glory makes that fight really easy

Hollow Knight (the boss) becomes a process more than a challenge for... reasons.

Man, I never found nailmasters glory or shadow dash. Guess I should have explored a little better before hitting the endgame

The shadow dash is well hidden because it's part of the key to the true ending

The only part I found particularly difficult was the trial of fools I mentioned further up. Other than that its just memorising attack patterns for the bosses.
