Netflix or HBO, Stephen King or Arnold Schwarzenegger, you'd think that the subject matter would be perfect for an adult action-drama. You have criminals hunted for sport on live television in a dystopic future.
The King novel has plenty of drama and social commentary. The Arnold version has a more likable protagonist and hunters who look like pro wrestlers in Double Dragon costumes. (Hint: Most of them were wrestlers.) The novel would probably be the better choice for something along the lines of Westworld, but there's a lot that could be done whichever version was chosen. ... I would like to see a take on the story closer to Steven King's original story. Though I people wouldn't have liked it as much. The over the top nature of the film really made it great.
