I'm freaking loving this season and excited to see how it ends

Enoch is adorable, but kinda seems like he's about to die. Thankfully if everything somehow works out, he'll still be alive in the past.

But boy, Yo-yo and Mack are pretty resilient, and I was pretty sure they were gonna kill them off before anybody else cuz Yo-yo in particular is super op.

I'm still loving Fitz's story arcs. It's crazy to see how he was like in S1 lol. He's basically a new character with the same history.

Anyways, they're finally back to the past so time to see how everything resolves

One of the most underrated shows I can think of. Everyone blames the slow start, but I liked that part, too. Very X-Files or Warehouse 13. But post-Winter Soldier? There's only a couple episodes I'd rate lower than 8/10.

Yeah honestly, it's the closest thing to a Marvel movie drama series... well I guess it pretty much is what it is, and it's not being shackled by having to shove in like 10 protagonists in one team. I see most people praise the later seasons but even then I think it's definitely underrated. And you need the early seasons for the later seasons to have even more impact because the beginning was so relatively problem free lol. I mean Hydra seem like pussies compared to pretty much everything that comes after

I think the beginning was like a combination of Buffy and firefly, and for the life of me could not understand why people didn't like it if they usually liked Whedon shows. The combination of scooby gang feel with exploring new locations in the airbus was very fun.

But then... then it just got insanely amazing after that. I actually think season 2 is too good because they introduced so much awesome stuff so quickly and any other show would stretch it out but agents of shield moves at a breakneck pace... so freaking amazing.

But... I wonder if that was it's undoing because I absolutely loathed this season, and am really surprised by all the praise people are giving it. I suppose different tastes and all that; some people like time travel crap and extensive outer space nonsense (instead of small doses of it here and there) but I felt the season is the closest thing to jumping the shark that AoS can do. Probably because they thought it would be the last season I dunno. Kinda anticlimactic ending too...

For me I like seasons 1 and 2, 3 starts out good but then becomes awful, 4 starts out meh because of lingering season 3 disappointment but then gets so much better and back to form (especially with the the 3 arc format which I was hoping would be a permanent format from now on) and then 5... ugh.

It's funny, last year we had all these theories of where the gang were and a lot of people were theorizing that AoS were finally going to introduce S.W.O.R.D. and that would have been an idea I'd liked, just to compare them with the Avengers emh version I saw which was cool. Oh well.

I'm of a different opinion. S4 and 5 are far more ambitious than anything they did in 1~2 and to some degrees, 3. I think due to the MCU films, the previous seasons of AoS, while entertaining that really grabs you into their personalities and growing relationship as a pseudo-family, felt like a less of an issue. Like the only reason they're dealing with any of those problems is probably because people who can solve the problem in one fell swoop, like say Thor or Iron Man who is insanely more powerful in the MCU, is busy with something else.

S3 introduced more superheroes into the team which also let them increase the stakes and the power level of the enemies, which makes S4 and 5 on such a grand scale while still making it feel like they have a chance one way or another. But also even if they deal with shit that have such great aftermaths, it never ends up feeling like the end.

It's not like May or Coulson ever gets powercrept either. They always have a role and feel powerful without superheroes. SHIELD ends up feeling like a well-glued team of brains, brawns, leaders, and heroes. Like if anything happened to Coulson, you see May step up as the main advisor while Daisy continues to get bred into a leader. But Coulson is obviously gonna make a far better leader than Daisy ever will, while Daisy has the powers to do stuff Coulson never could by himself. It's a pretty cool dynamic that's only made possible the longer the series lasts. You don't ever really feel this way earlier in the series. Like the rest of the team is just an extension of Coulson and they're just useless without him.

That's not to talk about Fitz and Simmons either. They start as a lighthearted duo but Simmons is unchanging and headstrong as she as always been, while Fitz finds out more about himself as this coldhearted genius who grew up in a good environment with a good heart. They were also this deus ex machina who pretty much figures out whatever device Coulson needed to conveniently solve all the problems. Later on they become more about constantly going through horrible experiences to save each other, and their deus ex machina science-ness becomes secondary

I think the later seasons are just so much better written, and it's far better than the series stagnating into the villain of the week format

Holy crap, they linked the plot to Infinity War in a pretty sweet way. I do wonder if the destruction of the Earth happens before or after Thanos completes the gauntlet. I imagine after though
