Then there are the people who are just very misinformed and believe their weight problems are due to some mysterious "metabolism" thing completely out of their control unless they live like a monk for the next 20 years

Intermittent fasting is the fastest and easiest way to lose weight...well short of dry fasting.

You can lose a shit ton of weight with no effort at all just eating one meal a day. If you really need to get fit quick just do one meal a week and dry fasting 23 hours at a time.

Dry fasting is exactly what it sounds like. No food and no water. This is not something you can do if you have a strenuous job or schedule. If you lead a fairly sedentary life you can do it. But youre going to feel like death after the first 23 hours. Then rehydrate, shower, and start again.

What makes dry fasting effective is the bodys metabolic use of fat cells to create water. Your body will use the oxygen from the air and the hydrogen from your fat cells to create water. As side effect this burns the shit out of fat. Its not sustainable by any means. And you absolutely should not do it longer than 3 days. Three days is pushing it. After 5 days youre at risk of death.

I think hes referring to my post on dry fasting. I didnt say to bring yourself close to death. I said to dry fast for 23 hours. But warned that anything over five days without water could be deadly, so dont push it.

Tylenol will relieve headaches if you take them as prescribed, but the bottle warns that if you take too many it could be deadly.

It's easy and hard at the same time. Easy because all you have to do is eat less, but hard because eating less sucks. I'm eating 1500 calories a day trying to drop from 160 to 150 and it sucks. I miss pigging out.

functionally, losing weight isn't hard. it is just calories in versus out. the hard thing is getting a healthy relationship with food. Only eating when you're hungry, making good food choices, resisting peer pressure (like free food at work) takes willpower.

I think I'm doing pretty good counting calories though. :v been dieting for a few months and I've lost 27 pounds. I wouldn't say it was easy though. It is a mind over matter thing. Still got a long way to go.

Its probably not fat. Some of it is, must the majority of it is water weight. My weight fluctuates 2-3lbs throughout the day. Some of it is water you drank, some of it is food in your stomach, and some of it shit in your intestines.

Your weight is a range more than a specific number.

I'm two weeks into a low carb diet and I'd kill someone for a Guinness. Instead I drink Bud 55 Select. :-(

The food part is easy for the most part. As in today I got a large chili and ceasar side salad at Wendy's for lunch. I had hard boiled eggs for breakfast. And that's only about half of my recommended carb intake per day.

Losing 4 pounds in a day is nothing LMAO. Sorry but the pounds you lost that day were just water and food waste. Not fat.

I've even lost over ten pounds in a single day (after seeing how much water I could drink).

Come back when you've lost consistently over a long period of time.

That said, weight loss is not that difficult. But people struggle because there are temptations everywhere and they lack willpower.

To be fair, there are actually extenuating circumstances that may make exercise or diet more difficult or easier for some. For example, some types of medication, injuries, or even chronic illnesses like diabetes.

Because at least the simple majority of people (at least in America) carry more weight by choice or lack of self control. Myself included. I just realized I needed to nip it in the bud while its 20 lbs not wait till Im obese.

Hypothyroidism is actually a pretty common disorder that causes weight gain. Polycystic ovarian syndrome is another one in women.
