I think this stuff not being there is the worst case scenario for the PS5 so I wonder if it would have a big impact.

I don't care about BC, frankly. I used to, but I don't care to go into a new generation to play old games.

Still no excuse not to have it

No, its a dealbreaker

I hate all the clutter that accumulates with old consoles and old games that can only be played on them.

Plus BC allows games (esp online multiplayer) to have longer lifespans since they cross gens. Look at CS GO for example

I'd probably still buy it when a great exclusive is out but hell no to paying full price at launch

I never really understood the draw of backwards compatibility. Then again, I tend to not jump to a new console generation until I've played everything I'm interested in from the previous one.

It's great getting a new console and having your library carry over with you.

In the case of PC and Xbox One it might even be in better quality in certain cases.

It also benefits people who didn't buy the previous console.

After the fiasco with the Cell processor, Sony bent over backwards to make the PS4's architecture very akin to that of a PC.

I'll be legitimately shocked it the PS5 features no backwards compatibility.

I want to say no BC is a dealbreaker, but I know I'll end up getting it as soon as there's a good exclusive
idc about crossplay. it'd be good to have, but it's not something I have a priority for

Not needing to keep your old console just in case you want to go back to some of your older games is a massive bonus

Plus the way the Xbox One does it, those old games can get a bump in graphics quality and performance. Look at RDR on the 360 vs the One X.

Do people really have time to go back and play old games over again? RDR was amazing....but I played it 8 years ago.

Of course. Especially if there's a sequel coming up and they want to be refreshed on the story.

PS4 and PC players have been asking for an RDR remaster as well.

Are the big companies finally releasing all of their games on PC? I don't care that much for Sony first party anymore but for whatever reason companies like Square still do their best to not release the games on the computer even though they aren't even being bribed with an exclusivity contract (eg: FF15 took how many years?)

I hope PS5 isn't coming any time soon cause I don't want it at all.

I'd say it's better than it used to be but KH3 isn't announced for PC so who knows what the deal is with Square.

A lot of them are getting better but some are still dicks plus exclusives are still a thing unfortunately

Yes. I have a PS3 and PS4 to use. Honestly I don't typically go back and play last gen games now, I doubt I would do it in the future.

And I rarely play online multiplayer games so I don't care about crossplay one tiny bit.
