Apparently Avengers 4 is the last movie for a bunch of the original actors. if they refuse to recast like James Bond, then that's just it for those characters. As much as I would like to see the further characters they will do, at the same time, it will be stupid to suddenly have major figures just gone forever.

thats why the comics are just plain better. people don't just go away. they don't have to worry about actors leaving.

it sounds like from rumors that the future of the MCU is gonna be focused on characters that haven't appeared yet. Carol is just the first of the new breed

I'm OK with it. I prefer to have a character's story and adventure end rather than resurrect a zombie version of them as with Luke Skywalker

Spider-Man and Black Panther are definitely gonna be important players in the future as well.

Anyways I disagree partly. Recasting in life action is...really off putting. Certain heroes can have someone else tale up the mantle(Like Captain America) but some if they die should just be dead and have no direct replacement.

But the comics having the character going forever means a ton of reboots inconsistencies, and other nonsense. Sometimes its okay to let a character run its course. For something like the MCU it makes sense.

Don't worry, I bet Disney can't wait to replace the roles of Ironman and Cap with minority actors/actresses.

Are they rebooting the characters or are they moving forward with the SJW rehashes?

War Machine turning into Iron Man, maybe. they probably won't do Riri. she's already given up the role of "Iron Man" in the comics and Tony is back in the suit.

Falcon or Bucky could be the new Cap

but I was talking about having new actors to be Rogers and Stark

in the comics, even when people take up the mantle, the originals always eventually come back

they are moving forward with new actors. that's all I know. it won't be rebooted. the universe moves ever forward. but expect the look of the movies to change as a whole bunch of actors retire

if that was directed at me, I am not against actor changes. I WANT them, instead of people just not being in the MCU anymore. that's why I mentioned James Bond in my first post.

anyway, this is why Marvel hasn't revealed much about post Avengers 4. all we know is Spiderman 2, and Guardians 3. because the rest of the movies are spoilers in their very existence and titles. so they can't tell us yet. Spiderman 2 I think comes out a few months after Avengers 4. I bet they will not let us know anything more until after Avengers 4 is out. and then maybe they will finally reveal their further plans.

Both would be fine as it was done in the comics before Disney owned Marvel. Legacy characters are part of comics.

I didn't say that. but for me personally, I might not be as interested in it, when Steve Rogers, Tony Stark and Thor Odinson are just gone forever.

They could easily just do a New Avengers type deal and not re-cast/hand over the mantle of Legacy Avengers though.

Captain America -> Black Panther
Iron Man -> Spider-Man
Thor -> Captain Marvel
Hawkeye -> Ant-Man
Black Widow -> Wasp
Nick Fury -> Tony Stark

Depending on whether or not they choose to use the X-Men or Fantastic Four they could throw some of those characters in as well, but I think we're a long ways off from Phase 5 so it'll just be crossovers for a while, but there's no denying that the popularity of Black Panther, Guardians, and the acquisition of the X-Men and possibly Fantastic 4 are likely to change things up a bit, just like when Marvel was able to use Spider-Man

The only one they can't recast is RDJ. Outside of the MCU, it would be hard to recast Hugh Jackman too.

RDJ and High Jackman ARE those characters now, they're so intertwined with them and perfect for the role that it's better to just retire the character than attempting to recast them.

It'd be easy to pull the comic book legacy characters deal, and say Bucky or Falcon are now Captain America, or put Ghost in the Iron Man suit but trying to recast them will be about as well received as when Marvel was trying to claim Lady Thor was "Thor proper" even though Thor Odinson was the character's NAME and not the character's title. His title was "God of Thunder" and she should have just been "Goddess of Thunder" with Mjolner

I don't believe that for one second. Someone else can play Tony Stark or Wolverine. They just can't give a copy cat performance.

There's no reason for the MCU to recast them unless they pull an Ultimates and introduce parallel worlds and at that point it's still probably better off to just use another Marvel character using that hero's name than recast them entirely.

Not Tony Stark, no. Maybe way down the line in however many years. But Wolverine should be put into the MCU, provided that the deal goes through. And not Hugh Jackman.

Don't see any issue with just pulling in Daken or Laura as Wolverine and mentioning their father died long ago and just popping Hugh Jackman up in cameos every now and again.

They'll just use different heroes in the Avengers, because the comics have had a large, rotating cast of characters on the team over the years.
