I mean but...shouldn't you? If you know you can die from the law, whether it's bad or not, doesn't it make sense to follow it? Unless of course it means more to you to defy it but...you knew the costs. Basically the normal pros and cons thing everyone should do for every decision.

The point I'm trying to make here is that punishments for breaking the law are not always justified and supporting the punishment regardless of what the offense/punishment match is, because "it's the law" can be tantamount to supporting tyranny.

An extreme but fictional example of this is Injustice Superman where the penalty for breaking almost any law is death. "It's to keep people safe. We have peace now." Is how he justifies it. Except you don't really have peace. You have a despot inflicting misery and suffering on a whim just to make public examples out of people.

It's really concerning how easily Youtube pranksters can get inside North Korea. North Korea or not, you don't just go into another country to act like a jerk to get reactions for your youtube channel.

The video is filmed in South Korea. He is interviewing defectors. It's also not a prank.

Comparing North Korean citizens to illegal border jumpers in America through this poorly veiled metaphor is only undermining your argument and not accomplishing anything. It's hardly relatable. You may as well compare being grounded to a gulag, for all it's worth.

I literally said nothing about illegal border crossing, which, by the way, is what those Koreans are guilty of. The only difference is the direction that they crossed.
