The tar pits suck. I was there not that long ago and it wasnt that cool. Its also really expensive, considering how long it takes to walk through the whole thing. Natural History Museum is way cooler.

Go to the beach. Redondo Beach has some great seafood, lots of parking. Santa Monica beach is nice too, but parking is worse and food not as good.

Or you can go to the largest mall in the west coast: South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa. They have a Din Tai Fung (world famous dumpling restaurant) but the wait is crazy long. But you can be added to the waiting list while you roam the mall.

You can go to Griffith Observatory. It's free and you have a great view of the Hollywood sign, and it's a pretty famous landmark here. Food sucks though (but the surrounding area below the hill has some great Thai food in Hollywood/West Hollywood).

There's a ton of shit to do here, but FFS avoid Disneyland. It's just long ass lines and waiting all day. Took my wife and son there for the first time and it's so much worse than I ever remembered. Even on "off days" like a random Thursday. It was awful. Can't even imagine what it would be like on a weekend.

speaking of beaches, blacks beach isn't too far from you and it's a great nude beach, and plenty of places for hot beach sex.
