Rosetta Stone was used by the government to train international diplomats, interpreters, and operatives.

That said I think something better was discovered sometime in the last ten years or so.

It's a bit dated, but if you actually have the motivation to use it regularly it gets the job done. The problem is a lot of people buy Rosetta stone as a substitute for an actual class or tutor, and then never boot it up because they have no outside force pushing them to bother.

I can't remember exactly what. I just recall something that claimed to be more efficient for less money.

It's all about your personal learning style anyway.

Doesn't Rosetta Stone only teach speech? Meaning you're still illiterate to the language?

I hear commercials on the radio for Babel. No clue about it any further. Ads essentially say it's European, Europeans speak languages! So grain of salt, imo.
