We would have to go back to an agrarian society around the world for that to happen

The best we could ever do is make the world livable for slightly longer

That won't happen though.

Think about all the factories and vehicles that use fossil fuels. You could fix that I guess by making every factory and vehicle in the world run on renewable energy, but that isn't feasible

What a vacuous and utterly worthless post.

Solar energy is now by far the cheapest form of new electricity. And also the biggest form of new electricity in America and also other countries. India and Saudi Arabia are poised to adopt it like crazy.

Wind has also become super cheap and accessible. And the trend will continue.

Don't you see the point?

California has done so much to promote environmemtalism, and yet every single day in one city (or metro area) in the world, millions of cars are just sitting there spewing out carbon dioxide and other pollutants.

Switching to an electric vehicle is not feasible for most people right now for various reasons. Electric vehicles aren't that plentiful or good right now, they aren't affordable, people will want to drive classic cars, people like manual transmission, people aren't going to feel motivated to switch, and some people will just refuse to switch.

And then you add all the factories around the world who simply won't switch to clean renewable energy until it no longer benefits them financially to use fossil fuels.

Companies aren't evil beings though... they are just large organizations of people. And while Oil companies for example obviously wouldn't want to switch to renewable energy, it doesn't make sense why a manufacturing company wouldn't want to switch... if it made sense financially. Which is really the issue here.

Companies are also always changing leadership. A CEO now doesn't care how a company made its money before, they care about making money now and in the future

Have you heard about terraforming? It's a hypothetical idea of changing planets so they can be lived on. Like going to mars and altering it so we can live in there.

If it's theoretically possible to do that on mars, it should be way easier to reverse climate change on our own earth.

You said that the trend will continue with renewable fuels becoming more financially viable. What if at some time in the future, solar and wind are the best fuels in the world, better and less expensive than any fuel today... but it is too late by then to stop or reverse climate change?

That's the point of this topic

Reversing climate change by cutting emissions is downright impossible. But that doesn't mean there aren't other ways, like negative emissions technology that can actually remove carbon gas from the air.
