To be fair this isn't exclusive to Skyrim and it's an issue in the other games too.

But like there's a iron sword, and every single iron sword you find in the overworld looks the same.

Yeah the main thing that bothers me about oblivion and Skyrim are the super boring copied dungeons.

Making tons and tons of unique weapon models would be an absurd amount of work, but like, a handful of blades, guards, handles, and pommels that the game would randomly mix and match could be really cool.

I always thought there should be like at least three or four different designs for each weapon tbqh. Nothing drastically different, but just enough that there is a little diversity. Especially in Skyrim where the weapons had those style designs.

It's weird that they did this with steel helmets (horned vs not horned) and scale armor (horned vs not horned) but didn't do this with ANYTHING else.

I hope future Bethesda games have a lot of unique weapons like Fallout 3 and New Vegas did. The lack of unique weapons is a complaint I see a lot about Fallout 4. Probably something that would have bothered me as well if I had actually played 4 for more than a few hours.

Not to mention that swords, axes and maces all have the same swing animation.

The silver swords always looked the best in the game. I just wish swords and axes acted like swords and axes instead of a blunt weapon. I know it's a video game, but just whacking a guy with a sword like it's a stick sucks.

Don't know about the weapons, but I remember there being a few different designs for the same iron armour pieces.
