But I dont go as much. I think I want to go. And get excited when I think about making plans to go(sometimes...), but Idk...

Yeah. Which is what I usually do. I guess the downside is having to wait for stuff to come out at home. And most likely getting spoiled. Though, I could care less about the spoilers. Mostly because its sometimes similar to the comic, sometimes because Ill forget he spoilers, and sometimes because the movie is still good even knowing the spoilers...

I haven't been in one since 1999. Although it's not like I'm watching movies at home either, all I've seen since were a Simpson's Movie (DVD gift), and for some reason Amazon let me DL Ted for free.

The only movie theater I ever go to is the Alamo Drafthouse. Instead of commercials before the movie, they show videos, cartoons and programs related to the movie. And you can order food, real food, and drinks during the film. Pizza, burgers, fish & chips, beer, wine and cocktails. And they have real popcorn with real butter, served in a bowl.

It's a bit more expensive than other theaters, but it's a much better experience.

I hear you. I go maybe once or twice a year at most, and it's okay... I just really never feel excited to go. If it's something I know I will like, it's no more expensive just to wait for the Bluray, which arrives 3 months later anyway but you can see it as often as you want then. I'm so selective when it comes to what movies I pay money to see, that it's a safe bet when I do buy them. My father-in-law always gives us his digital codes for any BRs he buys, so we have dozens of digital movies.

Yeah, I don't go to theaters anymore either.

I have a 65" TV and 5.1 speakers. What's the point of going to theaters when you have your own home theater? Public theaters have overpriced food, idiots talking during the movie, children crying, etc. I can avoid all that by just watching movies on my own home theater.

The only real advantage of a public theater is getting to see the movie months before it is released on home media, but even that advantage is diminishing as the home media release is typically only about 3 months after the theatrical release nowadays. You used to have to wait 6 months to a year for the home media release.
