DVD and Bluray playback requires a fee to the owner groups, by forcing you to download an app they only need to pay a fee based on how many that downloads it instead of how many units they sell, which in theory means a cheaper system for the consumers. --- GameFAQs isn't going to be merged in with GameSpot or any other site.
