Super Smash Bros. fans are upset about Solid Snakes butt

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Solid Snake was blessed with a voluptuous backside. This new rendition, while sporting Snakes skintight stealth suit, is severely lacking in booty. And longtime fans of Smash and Metal Gear alike are not here for it.

Its been pointed out that while Snakes butt size has been reduced, so has Zero Suit Samus breast size. Instead of unrealistically hanging from her chest like floating balloons, they actually resemble human breasts.

People are widely happier with Samuss redesign than with Snakes. It makes sense. In the Metroid games, Samus is usually in her heavy power suit and her new Smash design aligns more with her previous Zero Suit depictions.

Snake isnt the only one whos been quietly changed in Smash Bros. Ultimate. Metroid star Zero Suit Samus has also had a breast reduction for the Switch release. Her bosom used to jut out of her tight suit in older games, but its no longer as conspicuously gravity-defying. Fans are remarking on this tweak, too. But in a twist, they largely arent complaining about it; many people actually seem happy with the change.

The problem was never about the fairness, it was about the narrative. By changing to a group that the mods would concede with based on their own experiences, suddenly it's fair.

To me, I have every reason to not label these people as SJWs, but as something else, as I know many people who are of that group who say the exact same shit.

Male Gaze isn't that, exactly. As I understand it, it's a complaint that the camera in media assumes the gaze of a male audience. So, you get scenes that lingers on or pans over women in a way it doesn't typically do for men.

For example, the bouncing boobs in anime or in a movie when the camera slowly pans over a sexy women's body.

It is a thing that happens, but I don't buy that it's a problem.

In addition, there was nothing wrong with Samus' breasts in SSB4. They were fine. As a man married to a woman with an ample bosom, it does irk me when critics complain about big breasts being ridiculous.

I don't think it's an important issue. If a woman viewer is uncomfortable with the way a scene is handled, it's probably not for her. But I would also admit that I don't believe most women viewers have a problem with it, if they even notice it without it being pointed out to them.

Samus's breast reduction makes sense since she does acrobatic combat and would definitely wear a breast compressing sports bra underneath.

Snake's ass reduction makes the opposite of sense. He physically could not have that flat of an ass with how muscular his thighs are.
