I have one younger sister, mum and dad in my family.

My parents were really upset that when I got engaged, I didn't ask my fiance to include my sister in her bridal party, "because she's your only sibling".

My mum had one of her brothers in my dad's groomsparty when they got married and is super, super close with her family. We are too, but I'm not as close to my family as she is.

My reaction was... well, my fiance picks her bridal party and I pick my groomsparty... and I wouldn't have thought to tell my fiance who I want in her bridal party?

Thoughts CE? Are my parents crazy?

I dunno why you think CE of all places would be well-versed on the subject of marriage

Majority of people here are functioning adults with healthy relationships.

No, you are right. It's all about you guys celebrating your marriage. I understand where they are coming from, but the final word is yours.

it can't hurt to try to include your sister.

it's like, you'd have your own spy in your fiancee's bachelorette party, reporting on whether your future bride sucked off the stripper or not.

It's your wedding not your parents. Tell them to sit the fuck down and pay for it.

I mean, my sister is "in" the wedding in another facet, albeit a less prominent one.

Yeah, one of the big reasons my fiance and I are paying for the wedding is because we wanted complete control of what we do. Can't have that when your parents are paying for your wedding.

Decent number here are married. It's really funny when some users here think their own life is a direct reflection of the range of posters here.

Yeah, then they can definitely sit the fuck down now.

yeah it's weird. I love my family, but I'm not "close" to them. Whereas the other 3 are really close and it makes it difficult for me sometimes.

It shouldn't be any of your parents business. This is especially true if you're not that close. There's plenty of people that don't include their siblinh in this type of situation. It's not like you're doing anything insanely out of the norm.
