It was 45 minutes long, but pretty much half of that was Smash stuff.
-Xenoblade 2 DLC showcase -Fire Emblem 16 finally revealed as "Three Houses" -Some weird mech action game. -Super Mario Party, which at least looks to be bringing the series back to its roots, but it's also pretty gimmicky as well. -Rehash of what we already knew about Pokemon Let's Go. -Fortnite port -Indie stuff and a quick look at other upcoming titles (as well as Splatoon 2 DLC). -No Metroid Prime 4 -No Yoshi Switch -No Bayonetta 3 -No Animal Crossing -No No More Heroes -No surprise title I guess in a way, Smash pretty much carried the show. I guess that's what Nintendo was banking on. --- Be wary of boarding the hype train, lest you end up on the ruse cruise... - nanobuilder (r/nintendo) http://backloggery.com/SolarCrimson ... Not meaning to come across like a nintendo fanboy here but I think we're pretty spoiled these days where we expect each developer/platform to blow us all away with some out-of-left-field surprise hype-bomb that nobody was expecting. Still though I kinda agree that the switch as a platform on a whole is not looking like it has much to go on except some kinda cool platformers. --- CE's Resident Scotsman. https://imgur.com/ILz2ZbV ... i agree, but nintendo's around-the-year showing with directs is far better than what sony/microsoft do (though mostly because it's a something vs nothing situation)

Nintendo showed off three new games, a couple new indy titles, and brought Fortnite and Fighterz to Switch. Then the Smash dump. This vs Sony showing the same three games from the past 3 years, not to mention LoU2 was half their presentation

I mean, that's literally what E3 used to be. Hell, Nintendo just about patented the "One more thing" reveal, the most memorable obviously being the fucking Zelda reveal in '04 just about bringing the house down. --- Aeris dies if she takes more damage than her current HP - Panthera https://signavatar.com/26999_s.png ... I didn't expect much to be shown by Nintendo because they do directs all year long.

To be fair, Nintendo repeatedly said their presentation would focus mostly on Smash, which is what people wanted.

I felt the direct was pretty stacked with games, and it was only focused on 2018 games, with only a few Spring 2019 games sprinkled in. I have a number of games I want to pick up this year,
Octopath Captain Toad Smash TWEWY Monster Hunter and this is ignoring the other big titles that aren't plaform exclusive (3DS is dead to me). So I'm content. OmegaShinkai posted... Apparently it's by one of the Armored Core directors and main design artist. I've always been hearing about the Armored Core series and have a mecha itch to scratch so I'm down for the game. --- imgtc.com/i/4HgTl0ebzq.jpg imgtc.com/i/60CWP2Gtlg.gif ... Copied to Clipboard!

Yeah, No No More Heroes and No Metroid Prime 4 really sucked. Smash was hype but that was literally the only positive thing about that show.
