But at the same time I do value solitude and like my alone time.

Idk it just sucks that I unintentionally keep burning bridges with people and no one wants anything to do with me. :/ This has been an ongoing cycle and I really hope I can figure out how to fix it.

Are you able to seek professional help from a therapist? Reason I ask is if you feel you are doing something wrong, maybe it would help having objective input from someone familiar with how the mind works and why we do/say certain things. After you explain situations and your thoughts, of course.

Yeah I'm considering professional help because that would mean objective input, which I am in need of.

Having a friend is overrated. You always have to make sure you don't somehow piss them off or slight them and you're always wondering if you did something to do that when their behavior towards you changes or something odd happens.

Honestly, in life you only need 1 or 2 good friends. Especially when you're working, I mean there's only 24 hours in a day. And if you get married and have kids, more than 1 or 2 friendships is really hard to maintain anyway.

I guess friendships aren't really something that's forced. If you feel like you're burning bridges, maybe you're doing it because instinctively you feel that those people can't really be good friends?

I tend to get emotionally attached to friends. If they aren't okay with me or don't like me, that makes it difficult for me to enjoy myself around them.

i'm the same way. let's be best friends for three months before we inevitably piss each other off or get annoyed by each others' personalities and have a huge fight, say offensive/hurtful things to each other and then never talk again.

Yeah, I tend to fuck things up like that.

I was blessed to grow up in a large family where my cousins are practically my siblings. Outside of that, I have a few friends that I see maybe 2-4 times a year because we're all so busy but we understand that and makes it all the worth while when we actually do hang out.

If you make "friends" that you can't be fully comfortable around then they're not truly friends tbh. My group of dudes from high school turned out to be a buncha scumbags but looking back I'm glad I got out of that toxicity because at least now I'm surrounded by people who actually don't mind me.

Oh I usually let things play out naturally, it's just that they fall apart quickly because I'm not really good at this stuff.

I doubt it. I've never hated anyone, really. You'd have to go to some pretty drastic lengths. If you're anywhere near as solitary as I am, it's probably more likely to end in bored indifference.

I love my friends. Really I would only consider 2 people to be "true" friends, but I couldn't imagine not having them in my life. We've been friends since we were kids in boy scouts and still hang out to this day over ten years later. It's nice to have strong friendships like that.
