It's not really important or influential to the world, so nobody really cares about some mini country. The racist attitudes against Chinese people and others doesn't help either.

Not exactly racist when you're the same race as them though lol.

But I have to admit, singaporeans are pretty xenophobic, since almost half the population are now made up of foreigners. At least we have nothing against religion. A country full of muslims and you dont see discrmination nor a simgle terrorist attack at all. Not trying to correlate the two, but it's pretty sad that people in the west do.

I was amazed at the granularity of the choices provided for race. There were sub-options for say, different indian groups, or chinese groups.

But then other geographic areas had less options. What would a Sicilian check? (they're not exactly white). A portuguese? A Mexican? A native American (e.g. Cherokee)?

I can't believe Singaporean people are this racist

Han Chinese is the same race, whether one is from China or Singapore. Between countries, it's a matter of nationality (thus xenophobia) and not race. I'm Chinese too, to clarify. Singapore is a land of immigrants after all.

This 14% proportion is no different from your USA's african american minority of 12%.

Do blacks look uncommon to you? 15% is already VERY significant. In this proportion, you can pretty much see a black/malay person on the street for every 6 chinese/white persons. And this is esp. so for Singapore, where races are not segragated and dont live separately at all (eg. blacks mostly found in ghettos). Almost all locals live in HDB flats. You see malays everywhere here.

I mean more blacks in ghettos than whites. Like you see more whites in rural farm areas than blacks. The distribution of races is uneven.

I visited it Singapore 2 years ago.

It was nice. Great weather. Fantastic food.

But very smol. Not much to do but relax.
