I just watched a Nioh gameplay video and from what I watched it looks much more like a soulsborne game than it looked like a Tenchu game. The combat system seemed like it was almost identical to soulsborne, granted the last Tenchu game was like 10 years ago and I am sure had the series continued it would have seen gameplay updates. A lot of its UI elements and overall feel honestly felt like a PS2/PS3 game. The engine did feel more modern. The story was underwhelming and the enemy variety was weak.
