Now months ago when I worked at wally's I found a 2010 grand canyon proof quarter in my drawer one day. Now I found a second proof yesterday at my new job.
A proof is a special coin produced by the US mint that is legal tender, and looks like circulation coins but have a different finish and are all made in san fransisco. Kinda like a collectors thing. So the grand canyon proof had frosty devices and deep fields, as such https://tinyurl.com/ya8ryyqa But this proof quarter has none of that. I could tell because it was shinier in a different way than a brand new quarter, and plus its an S mint. I dont know what causes them to have a different finish but the frosty devices and deep fields are the most sought after. proof coins generally arent rare they are worth more than face value, like 2-3 dollars depending on condition and finish. https://tinyurl.com/y7re87vl ... My mom has frosty devices and deep fields, too.
