I made the mistake of buying the starter edition, and every operator is super expensive and nobody is unlocked. But it was cheap, so you know, is whatever.

i bought the year 3 gold edition. which unlocked everything but the year 1/2 operators.

and the games like "unlock operators with only 1-2 hours of game time with the non-starter edition" and yet i've put like 17 hours in and haven't unlocked a single character

It was talking about the original operators. The base operators were super easy to unlock originally. Then they made them free recently for everyone who bought above starter. So that's where the 1 to 2 hours comes from. For DLC Operators, you gotta hit that grind. It's a pain. But better than paying.

i wonder if that 1-2 hour quote is for the original operators. Nowadays you get all 20 of the base operators if you buy the standard edition, but it used to be that you had to pay renown to unlock them just like the DLC ones, only they cost 8k or so instead of 22k.

I've got about 52 hours in the game and only have like 4 Operators. Because I made the mistake of starter, It gave me two random base operators for free, and a few Rainbow 6 Money. I spent the Rainbow 6 money on Dokkabae, and then grinded for Frost. Frost is super, super fun. I love the bear traps.

so how much does R6 money cost?

Year 1 and 2 Operators I think cost like 600 Rainbow Six Credits? And I think it's like $5.00 for 600 Rainbow Six Credits. So 5 dollars an Operator.

That's the way to go. Grind out an attacker and a defender you really like, then just use your two favorites and unlock more as you go.

I already reaaally like Ash and Fuze for attackers.

I mainly use Rook for defense, but if i have to i use Mute. I just want to unlock the Canadians.
