Because all the licenses in game expire after one year and cannot be used to make money the next. or so i hear.

so, uh, i had no idea that unless i want a shitty torrent i can either buy a box version, if they even exist for all editions, or pirate it with a crappy torrent, in a lot of them commenters are saying "fake names appear in the game" meaning, i think its like Winning Eleven with fake players.

nobody told me i cant reliably ever play football manager 2014-17, unless i bought it on steam as it came out.

I only own 2012, and my favorite, 2013...never seen much reason to get any others but i'd shell out five dollars for each one of those bargain bin sports titles.

maybe i could see if somebody has some sort of claim code for an older edition theyre selling to redeem on steam?
