It takes a while to establish whats going on, but its an awesome game. Its a lot more than dialogue sequences.

These games take forever to play. Been playing P4G for a year, but I just play an hour in bed

Reminds of Legend of Dragoon where I forgot how the game started by the time I finished the game lol Think I put in 70 hours before I was done with everything

it does take forever but that is the nature of jrpgs. great game if you hang in there

persona series are known for their long intro, and i think 5 is the longest.
it's a great game, but i do really wish they have an option to skip read/watched scene.

not really, they are pretty stand alone. some references are there, but not vital to the plot.

even Persona 2 Endless Punishment can still be enjoyed without any knowledge from it's direct prequel, Persona 2 Innocent Sin.

HA! This happened to me too. I forgot all of the characters' different motivations, and it just became about me beating a game to watch cutscenes. I still enjoyed it though.

I would say there's an honest to god 1 hour of dungeon crawling for every 7 hours of insipid life sim bs in it.
Go here, talk to him/her, dialogue option 2, option 1, option 1, go to sleep. Go there, talk to him/her, dialogue option 3, option 1, option 3, go to sleep. Rinse and repeat ad nauseam.
I long ago started fast forwarding all dialogue. I do not fucking care. Don't get me wrong, I love a good story in my game. But not like this. Not to this degree where the actual gameplay however great it is becomes an afterthought.

You have to enjoy the ambience though, the style, when I played I just enjoyed being the in the city, the soundtrack etc, enjoy what the game throws at you rather than playing the game to play a dungeon crawler. Enjoy the breaks in-between dungeons don't resent them. Nothing wrong if you don't like the game but that's how I enjoyed it.

Damn that makes me not want to continue. I don't mind lots of downtime interspersed with action -- that's why I love KOTOR -- but this is just extreme. And the worst thing is all of this dialogue isn't even necessary. I get told I'm juvie trash like 10 times and then go to bed. That did nothing for effect or story...
