afaik, yes on paper but in reality no
as in, America was like "renounce all foreign loyalties and allegiances" when I took the oath. but as far as the UK says, they have to be the one to remove citizenship

i've been in contact with people in the UK and they've said I can get my passport when I visit and such, so eh

Thanks, and not really. It's really not that hard once you get your permanent resident alien card. It just took a while. I could have done it sooner, but I just never got around to it. The only hard part really is staying out of trouble. I used to get into some shit when I was in jr. high and high school, but nothing so serious that I would get deported or anything. I.e., no felonies or any violent crimes or anything like that.

As for the process itself, it's not that bad. You fill out the application for naturalization, and you have to disclose every crime you've ever committed (or been caught doing anyway). I had a minor juvenile record, so I had to gather some documents from various courts to show that those cases were resolved and closed.

One place didn't even have any records on me any more since it had been so long, so they just gave me a certified letter, confirming they had no documents on me. Due to my prior record, I did have to be interviewed by an immigration official who asked me some questions about my past. That may or may not apply for people who don't have any record at all.

After that, it was easy as hell. You get sent to some facility where they give you a list of every question and answer that could appear on the citizenship test. Not all of them show up, but the list contains every possible question/answer that could show up. You're given a good amount of time to study the list (something like 1-2 months, IIRC) before you have to come in to take the test.

After you finish the test, you take the English test, which is the biggest joke of all. You meet one on one with a different immigration official who tells you to write down the sentence he reads aloud. The sentence that I got was: "The car goes down the road" or something like that. The guy was laughing, because he knew I was obviously fluent in English since we engaged in some small talk before the test.

After that, you report back later for your swearing in ceremony, which is basically a ton of people in an auditorium, repeating the citizenship oath as read by a Judge. At that time, you can also apply for a passport, a name change (i.e., I changed my Asian name to my English name that I've been using forever).

You then get your citizenship certificate in the mail a bit later along with your passport if you applied for one.

At least that's how the process went for me. It may be different now.

As for RebelElite, I've always been pro legal immigration and anti illegal immigration. But I also believe citizenship is a privilege and not a right. I've been to Asia, Mexico, France, Holland, and Spain. Every time I visited another country, I did it legally.

Isn't SMAL the guy who had a crush on his sister and posted her paystub pretending it's his?

She did an AMA in the gamefaqs reddit (deleted now). Apparently he has a chip on his shoulder because she went to a good law school and he did not. She also speaks korean fluently and he can only remember the names of the dishes his dad sold in his Lo Mein shop (bad news - lo mein is chinese, I guess SMAL doesn't know the difference!).

Also, if he MOVED to america in 1981, he must be 42 by now. Isn't he too old to live pretending to be his sister in a message board full of kids, spewing racist drivel?!
