New car loans have been seeing record highs for multiple consecutive years. People are still buying brand new flagship smartphones each year by the millions. There is no shortage of people overspending on luxuries rather than saving/investing first.

Pretending otherwise is so dishonest that it completely takes away from any good that Richard Wolff might've otherwise said, because it makes him look like a partisan hack rather than someone who is being objective.

There's always going to be a trillion sob stories and excuses from the far left defending the poor at literally every possible turn.
Mind you, I don't think our economic system is necessarily fair or built for pulling people out of poverty, the tax rate isn't progressive enough, education is too expensive, organized labor is losing ground, etc etc etc etc but at least on some level, the buck for some people, stops with their individual choices period.
