Anyway, if the guy is crazy enough to start beating her cat to death in front of her, it's a pretty reasonable assumption that he'd be psychotic enough to attack her too if she physically intervened. If the guy saw her pull a gun and tell him to stop and he kept hitting the cat he deserved to get shot.

If anyone - don't care who - was trying to even just harm my birds, they would be dead in the most gruesome and painful way I could achieve on the spot. It's worth both the jail sentence and the new account I'll likely have to make because some mod gets "offended" by this post.

People love their pegs and beating an animal is a major red flag. No sane person beats up a house pet. No sane persons even beats a wild animal without a damn good reason( I mean like an actual beating. Throwing a rock at an aggressive stray dog or something isnt psychopathic)

At the very least the man had serious anger issues. At worst he is potential serial killer material. Dude was a ticking time bomb for some kind of domestic abuse, killing or other serious crime.

Give her a slap on the wrist(relative to the normal punishment for shooting a person dead)

If someone just straight up tortured your house cat to death, bashed it against a wall repeatedly or bisected it or something that person is clearly a psychopathic danger to society and certainly the fear and anger resulting from that I would consider a reasonable reason to shoot someone.

If it is after the fact, you call the cops. Report them. Easy. If it is during and that person was trying to kill my dog and I warn them, for sure I will shoot. Im not going to let me dog get murdered cause some sadist had a bad day.
