My grandfather who raised me was caring and concerned. Never emotional but just honest when it came to that sort of stuff. He was always there to listen and give advice when needed.

My mom. It's an act. She has no time to be concerned about any feelings. You're upset, depressed, sad, whatever. That just means you have your head up your ass and don't have enough to do. You're happy, that's fine. She can't handle anyone getting emotional and doesn't know how to deal with any of it even in herself. But for the most part it's all a front. She really does care and it comes out in little gifts at random when one of us is having a hard time or as medicines or a favorite food when we're sick. Or at very rare times when one on one she's admitted she doesn't know how to act, only that she thinks she should act strong because her psycho monster of a mother demanded that of her growing up but she doesn't want to be like that, she thinks. Idk. Parents can really fuck up their kids. And my grandmother achieved that by the truckload.
