When I used to think of how society should progress, I always thought of things like finding renewable sources of energy, ending wars over non-renewable sources of energy, colonizing Mars, uh, flying cars. Things of that nature.

But now, I realize that the most paramount way we can progress is to find various ways of celebrating the sexual habits of a small percentage of the population. So progresssive.

why not both?

We should be able to do it all. There is no limit to what humanity can achieve.
Going to space, becoming a FTL capable species, finding TRUE renewable resources.
Building TRUE sustainability.

Stop being so childish / discriminatory against those who want to live their lives differently from the norm / majority.

The Majority shouldn't be able to tyrannize the Minority.
The Minority shouldn't be able to tyrannize the Majority.
We all have to be able to co-exist and work together to advance society.

None of that other stuff is important. I understand that now. The only one thing that truly matters is that we have a month of colorful parades to pretend like we care about where other people are putting it.

Do you think millions died fighting the Germans so that we would one day achieve world peace, or conquer space exploration? Please.

Fighting the Germans was about dealing with a very serious & immediate threat to humanity and the entire world. Anything that came after was just that, thinking that was done after the war was won.

There was no serious planning for many years until the War was dealt with.

Then society had to figure out how to haphazardly piece itself together after the fact.
