1. get someone in charge of the franchise who seems to be an actual fan of star wars and gets the appeal of the franchise

2. let the franchise breathe a bit instead of farting out new movies every single year. oversaturating the market with SW movies will do nothing but cheapen the brand and lessen the impact of the originals

The Last Jedi is a polarizing film, but it did well at the Box Office
Solo isn't doing too hot at the Box Office, but it was never going to do well with a May release, firing a set of directors and practically filming a second movie, a movie about a character very few were asking for, etc. but let's see if it has legs
At the least they'll let Episode IX and see critical and financial reception before firing her

Honestly the best person involved with modern Star Wars seems to be Dave Filoni. Not saying he should be in charge of the films or anything, but there are certainly some people working on Star Wars projects that know what they're doing.

Because it's significantly harder than anyone is caring to admit to find someone like that and know beforehand how well their thoughts and ideas and leadership will carry over into a final product and how people will respond to it.

Money helps you find better people, but you can throw all the money you want at something, that won't always make it good.

Doesn't matter what they do at this point.

They tanked Pirates. John Carter flopped. Lone Ranger flopped. They somehow managed to destroy a franchise which all you had to do was put the name and John Williams theme on it to sell.

He seems to actually care about lore/connecting the universe, while also making a great story with the things he's done. I don't know about him being the "Feige" of it all, but he needs to have way more creative control than he does now.

i hate to use the word "fandom" but i think that star wars has probably the most mainstream fandom out there, it's what has kept the franchise alive for 40+ years. it's not just nerds at conventions, it's dads showing their young kids the original trilogy and stuff like that.

i think that TLJ is going to have a long term negative affect on the fandom and if they continue to go down the TLJ path (in regards to how the story is told, how it treats the scope of the franchise, etc) then i can see the enthusiasm for the brand waning and being very hard to resuscitate

It was his movie and he was given free reign, but apparently Gareth Edwards and... uhh... Lorde and Miller was it, on Solo? Weren't. She stepped in to stop them from going in a direction they didn't want, so its her fault the movie turned out how it is based on her inaction when clearly she had the power to make changes.

I mean, I don't really care and don't sit around complaining about Star Wars movies, but she's responsible for the franchise at the end of the day.

For a movie that replaced it's Directors halfway thru and reshot half of it, that is phenomenal.

Also, released against the NBA playoffs, UEFA Championship, and Deadpool 2.
