That's why you should need to pass an intelligence test prior to being allowed to register to vote. He didn't trick anyone, those voters were just too lazy to properly assess their options.

this is just sad, whoever voted on this man because they thought he was black was:
1. So incredibly stupid that they assumed this man was black w/o looking into him AT ALL.
2. Voted for him SOLELY because they thought he was black

None of the people "fooled by him" should be allowed to vote.

EDIT:
If anyone voted for him because they actually liked and shared his views then great. It's the ones that voted SOLELY because of the color of his skin that are the problem.

The fliers had photos of smiling African-Americans and were captioned Please vote for our friend and neighbor Dave Wilson.

One of the fliers referred to an endorsement from Ron Wilson, a name local voters were likely to associate with a former Houston state representative who is also black. In fact the endorsement came from Wilsons cousin who lives in Iowa and shares the politicians name.

Former State Rep. Ron Wilson is also a democrat so the flier came off as though the republican is democrat approved, or rather "one of the good ones". In any other circumstance, a black republican would be ostracized as a traitor to the race.

That's the overwhelming majority of people. We make snap judgements based on first apperance, all the the live long day. Black people see black person running for office, they vote. It's that simple. It's not racism (I know you didn't mention racism, I'm just stating the, what should be, obvious) to want one of your own to succeed and be in power.

We LIKE to think we are above this type of behavior, that we are completely non-biased, but we really aren't. I've done it, you've probably done it. Our biases influence our day to day. It's just the way people are. We don't break out a mearsuring tape for daily judgements, analyzing the possilbe ramifications of every single action. Should we? Probably. Especially in the case of big decisions.

That is an INSANE level of snap judgement though.

When I vote for anything I at least research a LITTLE bit before I cast my vote. I surely wouldn't vote for someone solely based on something as ridiculous as skin color. That goes FAR ABOVE AND BEYOND "snap judgements." It's down right idiocy...

Really? Black people always heavily favor Democrats. They had an increased turnout for Obama because he was a Black Democrat, not because he was Black. If he had been a Black Republican, I highly doubt you would've seen the same effect.

As for the Hillary claim, empirics or bust.

The article doesn't support that conclusion. It supports the conclusion that voters who don't pay attention are vulnerable to being misled. However, Ben Carson's utter shellacking with Black voters as compared to Hillary Clinton supports my conclusion.

Huh? I'm saying that if a black person votes for another black person, because they want to be represented by a black person, that I wouldn't consider that racist.

And I'm also highlighting the tendency to naturally gravitate toward those who are similar to ones self. Especially if there aren't that many of those like you to begin with.

They dont vote for the white candidate because he is white. Without looking into any issues or stances. Thats their reasoning.

Thats conpletely racist in your scenario.

Huh? I'm saying that if a black person votes for another black person, because they want to be represented by a black person, that I wouldn't consider that racist.

And I'm also highlighting the tendency to naturally gravitate toward those who are similar to ones self. Especially if there aren't that many of those like you to begin with.

So racism.

He's probably basing it on all the reports of people calling Obama the n-word after finding out he was elected.

She literally said half of Trump supporters.

Yeah, she was wrong. More of Trump supporters are deplorable than half.

It is pretty clear who she was referring to as deplorable when she said that. Hint: The alt-right/white supremacists. Everybody knew that though, just didn't care. Kind of like Trumps "Animals" comment...but context matters all of a sudden for that one lol

So she literally said half the country is white supremacists?

You are again pretending that context does not exist, when you know very well that it does. Larry Wilmore jokingly calling Obama "my n-word" is not the same as, for example, this 80 year old white police commissioner in New Hampshire

Why are you pretending that it is?

Black people would rather vote for a black republican than a white democrat
https://nypost.com/2013/11/10/white-politician-wins-election-by-pretending-to-be-black/

He said he was a "friend and neighbour" and had black people on his fliers? That's how he fooled them? Did they look into anything about him before they voted based on a stupid assumption?

That's why you should need to pass an intelligence test prior to being allowed to register to vote. He didn't trick anyone, those voters were just too lazy to properly assess their options.

Wait. So you are saying black peoples vote for blacks people just because theyre black and race has nothing to do with it?

They dont vote for the white candidate because he is white. Without looking into any issues or stances. Thats their reasoning.

Thats conpletely racist in your scenario.
