I don't think he technically died instantly but he never had any form of consciousness after the incident.

There was no "right decision" to have been made at that point. The right decision would've been not to have placed Owen Hart in that position in the first place. But seeing as it happened, they made the only decision it its aftermath that was practical.

Stopping the show would've meant refunding the audience's money. It probably would've taken about two hours for the last of the audience to have gotten their refunds. And the WWE would've been fined by the arena's owners for going past curfew. So, the fans would've left disappointed and enraged -- many of which never to have returned to a WWE show -- during a period of intense competition. And the WWE, already in the red, still would have had to have contended with inevitable lawsuit from the Hart family.

You're looking at a significant financial loss and a potential loss of trust on the part of the paying customer. It's harsh, but nothing would've been accomplished by them symbolically washing their hands after the fact.

I don't mean to sound as dickish as I sure I did in the last post. My heart goes out to the Hart family over what happened. But it just simply would not have been practical to have stopped the show.

It'd be like taking your money out of the bank and burning it in protest of a shooting. It won't bring the victim back.

My initial thought is stop the show, but honestly the refund process wouldve been a nightmare. Not the loss of money but the logistics of it.
