The earth is flat.
Weed cures literally everhthing, but it was banned because BIG PHARMA wanted to make money.
Water is actually bad for you.
Masculinity is toxic, it will actually make you physically ill to be a man.

Tell me to say other dumb shit and I will.

Then you can tell your friends Scientists say the earth is flat

These two i kinda believe to an extent. I know weed doesnt cure everything but it has benefits and you gotta believe pharma lobbys against it till they can find a way to monetize it.

Also masculinity can be toxic since i dont believe theres one way to be a man. However i believe that for anything whether its sex, race, or gender.

what kind of GOOFY gets a PhD in Computer Science? You''ll learn more in the industry over 4 years than school

I don't think you understand what PhD research in Computer Science is about.

but I want to say I'm a doctor. I've considered going to grad school. It's more because I enjoy school than anything else though.

A master's program is much more similar to bachelor's than it is PhD.

What part of school do you enjoy?

I can't exactly advise you related to computer science, but I've been pretty good at directing undergrad math majors who don't know whether they want to do grad school or not.

What are you guys referring to specifically?
Some of my professors told me what classes they had to take for a PhD, things like Neuroscience
while Master's Students take more electives.

What class specifically are you guys talking about that is more important than working in the field?
A more complicated Algorithm theory class?

Classes are irrelevant to PhD.

I mean I guess it's what you value, money or more classes on theory. But I'm not sure which theory you guys are referring to that is locked behind a PhD.

I would also being willing to put money on the fact that many people can teach themselves way more effectively to program, than a school can over 4 years of lectures

Your coursework is more to fill in the gaps from different undergrad educations. Your research is what really distinguishes from a PhD and say a masters.

Then what are you guys referring to, independent research?
You guys are making this seem more mystical than it is. For most people, a PhD is a set back unless you want to teach or unless your company is paying you to get it

I guess my issue is, is that you don't need to go for a PhD to conduct "research" or to specialize in a particular topic.

Just my personal opinion.

You're not necessarily wrong, but there are two issues I have with that statement.

1. Most undergrads have little to no experience with academic research, so "doing it on your own" isn't really an option. Having a research adviser who essentially baptizes you into the world of modern academic research is important, and learning how to do research, find problems that are worth working on, etc. is not trivial.

2. Most companies aren't going to pay you to just "conduct research". So while you can do it in your spare time, people simply tend not to. Like, I'm about to start a job in industry and I already forsee my research output dropping dramatically as my lingering projects wrap up.

It's not really about can't. It's just that people don't.

Mostly just learning new things about the field I'm interested in. I enjoy learning the details even if it's not necessary to get the job done. I also really enjoy figuring things out and the challenge followed by sense of accomplishment when I succeed.
