I heard it was going to be a game where you play as special forces again instead of spartans.

There are probably a lot of Halo fans that would rather see a ODST 2 over Halo 6.

They revealed a Halo spin-off last week. It was an arcade game.

I don't think they've said anything specific about E3. Just that there was Halo stuff to show that wasn't Halo 6. Halo MCC and Halo arcade fit that bill already.

It would be the first time they skipped the 3 year cycle if they don't.

But they really don't need a new Halo tbh. 5 has so much content. I recently got back into it and I'm rediscovering everything. Just a solid, quality game.

Would really like a game that takes place in the early stages of the war.

It's too late to start over now, they're going to have to roll with it. I just hope they can salvage it. That's why they should take as much time as they need to make sure Halo 6 is their best game yet. You're right that Halo 5 has enough going for it right now to last for a while longer. Plus MCC will be getting fixed. There's no rush to make a new Halo game.
