You figure, he had already waged wars for at least decades where he would eliminate half the population of various planets through traditional warfare. Do you think he left those groups out of his 50/50 execution? Nope, just purged them in half again. And did he take in to account sentient beings who had taken efforts to reduce their consumption of goods? Maybe long-lived races who already moderated their breeding and used minimal resources to live? Nope, 50/50 for everyone. He was simply a mass-murderer and that's all he ever wanted to be. Couldn't he have used the magic glove to make resources more bountiful, or reduce the amount of resources all advanced beings needed to exist? But his solution was just eliminating half of the sentient beings in the universe.
