I see intellectual dishonesty is your thing. You asked me to cite scriptures in which the Bible says that being lazy leads to poverty and how you may starve if you dont eat. Ill note that you didnt respond to this yet you apparently knew it existed as you used it here.

The tl;dr out of all of this is that American evangelism, and American conservatism in general, rejects the concept of Robinhoodism. Mandatory or coerced "charity" is not charitable.

Its hard to say. We should be compassionate. However, there are so many scriptures about how being lazy leads to poverty and how you may starve if you dont work.

2nd thessalonians in particular is disturbing to use in this way because it's a commandment to believers not about the poor

so using it for that message is disturbing and somewhat sociopathic (admittedly, that is John_Galt's gimmick; i should apologize for suggesting it is yours because you're not a sociopath regardless of our disagreements)

i didn't respond there because i saw little further point in discussing it if you view commandments to believers as reflective of the poor (who are, from the Christian perspective, potential believers to win over with your charity and love)

not gonna comment on our relative charitable giving because i don't like to advertise what i do/don't give. i have always appreciated christ's message on that, even if i have lost my faith in his religion.

but i am sorry for not fully representing our dialogue in that thread, it was intellectually dishonest to not quote the reason i asked you to give that quote list. mostly did it because i inadvertently hit devsbro over it and was trying to apologize to him.
