Current Events > Anyone here actually ever attend a Japanese festival?

I mean something with the goldfish catching, the kimonos, the fireworks.... one of those kind of festivals.

Thoughts about it? What was it like?

There's an obon festival held annually in Hawaii (Mililani area). Went once 13 years ago.

I spent most of the time in the dealers corner where people had set up table booths to sell stuff, browsing yugioh and magic cards and small trinkets.

Other than that, some people wore kimonos, others just regular clothes. They did the whole drum on the tower thing with people going in a circle.
Can't speak much else since I wasn't too interested at the time.
