Well one of the main characters decided to spoil the end of Season 3 on a talk show out of revenge. Then Season 4 they completely changed the show to bring in a kiddy audience.

It's a bit of a huge teen drama, but it's a bit self aware, at least in the first two seasons. But from what I remember(never rewatched it) the characters are acted really well by those involved. Plus Adam Brody was very meta, which is always fun to watch
