To be fair, the walking to the cockpit is only alleged.

I find it hard to believe considering the cockpit is locked and they would not unlock it to talk to a whiny passenger. That's not the pilot's job.

The police involved were fired dude.

He was also really reasonable, he just refused to leave. That's not throwing a tantrum. He paid for his ticket, boarded, sat down, they had his luggage and prepared for take off. At that point you're not legally allowed to just boot him off for the fuck of it just because you need last minute space for your own staff.

United fucked up royally.

You know, I've seen some real smelly fucks flying, so I was going to say fair, next. But then read the story:

1) The guy took her seat and refused to give her the seat she paid for
2) the airline employees basically told her to fuck off
3) When she went to the restroom, the same man went to the cabin (which isn't even allowed!)
4) The man refused to let her get back to "a" seat after she used the restroom
5) "the pilot" (not the passenger) requested she left the plane because she stinks

The man clearly had an issue with her and got her off the plane because of it. It's a "how DARE you want your own seat, lowly person" kind of thing. And the "smelly" thing is racial. Some races are portrayed as lazy, others as violent, others as smelly... etc

The incident started when the mother who filed the suit, Queen Oboima boarded the flight in Houston after arriving from Nigeria. She got to her seat but found a white man was sitting in it. She says he ignored her requests and refused to move.

Oboima says she summoned the flight attendant, who would not make the man move, instead telling her to take a different seat. The man then got up and went to the cockpit, the lawsuit alleges.

This is all you need to know.

I sat next a man on a plane once who smelled sickenly putrid (he was an obese white man). It was so bad that even the stewardesses could tell when they got within a few rows of him. One of the other passengers did complain, and they reseated the man.

I have no idea how his family smelled, but if it was anything like my experience, this is completely fair. Nothing racial about smelling disgusting, and not racist to expect people of any race or nation to engage in basic hygiene before flying.

Fuck that guy for taking the womans seat. Ive had to explain to clueless passengers that theyre sitting in my seat and it really pisses me off when they think theyre right but didnt carefully read their boarding pass. Im starting to think theyre doing that on purpose and are hoping the person they took the seat from will just back down. Seriously, fuck people who act like that.

I love how everyone's complaining about the man obviously lying, when I've never experienced anything like what she's saying. I've been on flights over 100 times and since 9/11 they're super nazi's about you sitting in your purchased seat.

There have been a small handful where it was chill (hey this is what we got, spread out and sit wherever) but those are few and far between. Doubling down with a bathroom visit pre takeoff, yeah gl. They're not gonna hold the entire airport up so you can pop a squat. Tripling down with a "visit to the cockpit" but this is obviously a miscommunication. She probably meant he visited the stewardess stand at the front of the plane. (Again, anyone ever tried moving around during boarding? Not easy at all. In fact it's pretty close to impossible.) Taking off your belt pre-takeoff signals the front that you did that. They usually come right down to check.
