I was actually extremely depressed back in 2011 since work was getting more stressful and I had just lost a lot of friends. First Class was the first comic book movie I had seen in theaters since Batman Begins 6 years prior, and it had a positive impact on me for some reason. I remember leaving the theater and feeling excited and hopeful and inspired.

It's a little hammy but they cleaned up everything nicely in Days of Future Past, which is arguably the best X-Men movie there is.

I just hope the inevitable reboot doesn't jettison Fassbender & McAvoy. Both are fantastic as Magneto and Xavier.
