they actually made a pokemon rpg called gale of darkness or something, but i think the main reason was that the pokemon fanbase developed violent mental illness and cared less about cool games and more about ev levels and numbers going up and down or whateever

it's so simplistic they could easily put out a low budget sequel, but they probably won't bother if they can't charge $60 for it

I loved that game as a kid, everyone I knew did, I think they put it on the Wii Virtual Console store too, dunno how well it did tho

I mean, it was cool back then, but you really are just taking screenshots. It didnt last very long. I feel like it was intended to be more of a rental game, seeing as how Blockbuster had all those sticker machines for it.

i've always had the idea of a video game that's basically pokemon snap but in a gothic horror setting. you're a weak little man who slowly upgrades his horse to a carriage with maybe trains and ships for other areas. you unlock new areas as you slowly fill out a bestiary for your master
the monsters are all kinds from different mythology and you are a weak human, maybe you eventually get a gun but you suck and will die if you miss. other than that, you take pictures of different magical creatures and have items to draw out others, kinda like pokemon snap but more in-depth

it'd be on-rails too, but I think it'd be a nice relaxing game with the occasional jumpscare

yeah, I have played a couple of the them and enjoyed it. I just want more in that vein, y'know?

AFAIK the game didn't sell great and only has a cult following to this day.

That said, Gamefreak did throw fans a bone in Sun/Moon where there's a side feature where in certain spots you can photograph live Pokemon in 3D settings and then get graded on your photos. So basically mini, self-contained areas of Pokemon Snap.

I liked Snap. I'd be down with a full sequel for it.
