No, it's actually that fucking good. Like I never thought that I'd like Kratos as an actual character instead of an unstoppable monster but he's actually a pretty well written character this time. And the game felt and presented itself as a God of War game despite playing drastically different.

It's a solid 9/10 game despite lots of flaws. It's largely the result of a full, complete product featuring lots of content, a quality narrative, cast of side characters, soundtrack and combat that comes together in fine fashion.
There ARE some issues with the game, despite the game's merits. For example, the camera angle is poor; boss fights are lackluster; GOW suffers from lack of enemy and boss variety; and the climbing parts are dull as fuck (which is part of the greater problem of restrictive movement). I also don't think Atreus and Kratos are as good as a duo as Joel and Ellie either (GOW is usually compared to TLOU btw). --- "Bear Island knows no king but the King in the North, whose name is STARK." ...
