I don't see who or what has been damaged or wronged in this situation. I wouldn't want my kids around it, but in order for it to be a crime there needs to be some sort of measurable tangible damage...otherwise, there is no victim.

Just because the children don't realize they are victims (in the very likely scenario of this being a sexual fetish), that doesn't mean they aren't.

Okay but you didn't explain "why" they are victims. Please point out the tangible damages. Thanks.

This, pretty much.

I'm absolutely not a pedo sympathizer, but some of the shit people are suggesting in this thread is incredibly fucking invasive.
Unless the dude (who absolutely is a creep lol) explicitly does something involving touching the kids or makes advances on them, I don't see why he should be charged with anything.

Warning him to stop and telling children to avoid him if he approached them is the right thing to do.

If you found out some creepy old guy was paying your child or kid sibling to sneeze on him, what would your reaction be?

I find any answer other than wanting to beat his ass or call the police VERY hard to believe.

No one here is saying parents shouldn't want to beat his ass.
Like honestly, I wanna beat a lot of peoples asses everyday. Doesn't mean they're guilty of a crime lol.

But that's the point though. I don't think anyone will defend the guys creepy actions, so much as just answering the topic title "no it's not really a crime he should be arrested for."

Youre thinking entirely in the physical realm of victimization. This shit had the potential to be emotionally hurtful to children, though, in the same way that having someone creepily stare at a woman is harmful (ask any woman you know, it has happened to them).

Nice appeal to emotion typical of American gun nuts. The sane rational response is to tell your kid to stay away from them. Emotional and violence advocating people who takes pride in letting 7 year olds hunt are the actual real threats to American children and society contributing to your culture of mass shootings

Yeah, let's make staring at women illegal
